but they keep sending me letters that they are still collecting info. I will let you know what happens. Most of the folks say you need boots on the ground in Vietnam. I think you have them. Most flights that took people to Thailand went to Da Nang and Ton sunite. It is illegal to fly commercial flights over viet nam at the time.
Those two air bases were the biggest. Troops were loaded on to militay aircraft and then flown to Bangkok. Try to prove it though.
Frank McKnight-I was at Takhli from Sep 67 to Sep 68. I was a F-1055 Crew Chief. You talked about flying into Thailand. I flew from Hickam to Clark on a commercial flight, a stretch DC-8. We waited a day and then flew a military acft from Clark to Bangkok. We flew over Vietnam because they announced on the plane that we would get combat pay for that month because we flew over Vietnam.
