If I could get that statement in writing for my father's claim, that would probably help.
The VA rep says my mom deserves the benefits after my father passed in June. He was there Feb 67 through Feb 68. He was a jet mechanic and everything I'm seeing says he was exposed.
We're in the process of trying to gather more information for her case.
Anything you can add would help.

I was a lt. in charge of Civil engr maintenance 67/68. In reponse to the attacks on the northern airbases in thailand, the base commander ordered that the jungle around takhli be removed. I don't remember it being called a clear zone but it sure as hell was after we finished. It was weird since the old Jap aircraft bunkers were out there covered by the jungle and the bulldozers kept running into them.
