You sometimes wish somebody would take the manufactures to court. DMF clutches appear to be "failing" by the thousands rather than "wearing out" as clutches used to do. I was at the Bolton Mechanex show today and If I heard correctly at Tech talk by LUK, they don't cover warranty on Commercial vehicles and taxi's. They also showed pictures of broken drive shafts and gearboxes when the solid conversion kits had been fitted. It appears to me that the DMF clutches are trying to cover up the problem of the engines providing far more "harsh and pulsing" torque than the gearboxes and drive shafts can cope with but the clutch itself can not cope. Maybe they should be looking at reducing the problem at the source by limiting or smoothing out the power in the first place. Good luck with the customer. Graham
