I think you should explain to the customer that YOU are not going to cover the job until you have had the report back from TPS proving it was either incorrectly fitted, abuse, faulty parts. Please or offend him. Do you have terms of trading? we guarantee our work for 3 months or 3000 miles , had there been any problem in work it would show up within that period. Therefore the onus goes back onto the parts or the customer. You can do the job but he must pay again. Otherwise he takes the vehicle away after paying you to remove the gearbox. He is trying to dictate to you how you should run your business. I know this all gets confrontational but why should you pay for , what appears to be either faulty parts or abusive driving. Would be interesting to know how long he owned the vehicle before the clutch went and the mileage. We had the same with a customer and his Range Rover , and he was a barrister.It turned out that when i collected the vehicle it was stuck in a ditch and he had blown the clutch trying to get it out! Stand your ground.
