I would think there are only three possibilities. 1) The clutch was fitted incorrectly - which we hopefully assume is not the case. 2) The clutch was faulty in which case the supplier should pay the parts and labour. 3) The customer has abused the clutch which would mean the customer pays for parts and labour. I would suggest to your customer that if the clutch is removed and sent for analysis and is found to have been abused he will have the full invoice to pay, but as they have offered to supply parts free of charge then his cheapest option is to pay for the labour only, unless he wants to take a risk on the manufactures opinion.
