    Hi George

You are not the first to notice the recent spate of poor posting. This seems to mainly be from many of the new members who have joined in the last 6 months (not all I must add)

The trend seems to be to connect the scanner, retrieve a P code and post it on UKAT and then expect the "Crystal Ball" to do its magic

There appears to be no mention of any basic checks, testing or live data

I know that Snap-on do recommend UKAT at many of their seminars and I suspect they give the impression that UKAT has all the answers. From my experience of Snap-on seminars, most of the guys there only have a basic scanner and very little knowledge of the systems they are working on. A two hour seminar will not turn you into a diagnostic guru

So can I please ask that members take a bit more time over their posts, this includes giving the full vehicle details, basic checks and information that you think relevant

Many P0 codes being posted with a very basic short description given (as most scanners do)this can mean nothing to many. Can I suggest that you use Autodata or Vivid to check for expanded fault code descriptions, if you do not have either then WHY NOT!, you cannot work without basic information. Can I also suggest a copy of Peter Coombes Code Breaker, this will give you expanded descriptions of all P0 codes and an insight into what the code refers to and how to check or test

    One last thing

Please run SPELL CHECKER on your posts, or at least read through before posting

This forum is not a mobile phone so please DO NOT use Mobile Text in your post

Please come back and post the FIX to your original post. Many members are just leaving posts open. I cannot believe you are giving customers cars back not fixed!!

Sorry for the lost post but the quality needs to be improved, there is an alternative but i do not want to go down that route just yet

    Peter
