Re: engine troop sucked into the engine of a b-66/j75 engine
I knew Tim very well, he was one of my closest friends. We were both from Ohio. He was taking my place at the trim pad that night as it was my night off. We were working 6 - 12 hour shifts with 1 night off a week. The person that was running the AC was Roger Lowe, also one of my good friends. I came back from town and stopped in at the snack shop and ran into some of the guys that I worked with and they told me about Tim. I went to Rogers barricks and kept him company all night. He really took it hard. I think we were the only night shift run qualified guys in the engine shop so things got really busy. They did finally build runup screens but a little too late. I retired in 1986 as SMSgt and I quite often think of Tim to this day.
