Hi Andrew I have done a few of these, and from the start we bought the correct locking tool for the job When you say you have pinned the crank and locked the cams.....what have you used? The only way to be sure is to lock the cams with the correct tool at the back of the head (remove blanking plugs, new ones required from dealer) Once you have the cam slots lined up, just back it up and screw in the correct crank pin, then move crank forward until it touches the pin and slots should line up for tool to be inserted If the correct locking kit was not used, then i suggest to try and borrow one or buy one (£30:00) before you go any further Post again if you need more help Peter
