I was off duty and it seems like it was in the morning. There was a group of F-105's taking off. We were outside and heard an explosion and looked and saw a fireball going down the runway. I remember the small helicopter getting the pilot out but heard he died shortly afterward. i also remember that the aircraft was pushed off the runway so that the takeoffs could resume.
