The tournament is ran to find state placers and a state champion. You're not putting state participants on a podium. Making it to state is not some amazing thing that was held in high regard before and it won't now. Apologize if your wrestler had made it state and that's a big deal, but that's not really for you to project onto others.

Finding the format that has the most fair way to find state placers and state champion is the only conversation worth having. Everything else is secondary

This format is much better than the previous regional format for finding the best state placers and that's not really up for debate. This is just a math problem, you can't really bring your opinion to a solvable equation. No one gets eliminated in a math problem at regionals anymore that should be at state.
