    Common Rail Diesel - Anyone worked on these? - Clean room conditions Archived Message

    General enquiry!

    Has anybody done much work on these?

    ISTM that you need "Clean room" conditions to work on these to avoid running the risk of introducing damaging dirt into the systems and they seem astonisingly delicate as far as potential for damage when changing filters and so on is concerned.

    How on earth do you service and repair these things when you are dealing with mucky, oily %$£! covered engines with 130,000 miles on them?
