Hi Damian, in my experience you have braking shudder under light braking conditions it is concurrent with warped hubs. Whenever we replace brake discs we always warn customers the vehicle may develop braking shudder, because if the discs have ever warped at any time in service they will always distort the bearing carrier or hub. Somehow new discs cure the problem anything from a couple of thousand miles to 8000 miles depending on how the car is used. It is the constant heating & cooling of the discs, eventually they are pulled out of alignment by the misshapen hub carrier. We warn our customers that we fit new discs to that when the shudder re-occurs sufficiently we use our on-board disc skimmer and every thing is trued-up, no more braking shudder. The problem with doing the job correctly in the first place which is replacing the discs, pads, hub carrier, & new wheel bearing you will cost yourself out of a job. But warning the problem may re-appear & a disc skim may be required the customer understands the costs involved and doesn't mind forking out a lesser amount at a later date. HTH John Kennard.
