No I haven't talked to a civilian cariologist. Out of the seven stents I have, six were placed by civilian doctors, and one by the VA. One civilian doctor placed five of those stents, and tore one of my vessels. Two of the stents he placed crimped every heart beat, so I was getting chest pain. The VA placed another stent inside the two stents to create a bridge between the two so they wouldn't crimp. Bottom line is the VA saved my life, but said trying to have open heart surgery would be like trying to connect a large hose to a smaller hose( one vessel being larger than the smaller vessel. Not sure if I made any sense because it is complicate. However, it would be worth a consultation with another cardiologist. I appreciate your concern.
