Jim, I was at Takhli 68-69 as a flight line weapons troop. I have been working with my local VSO who is frustrated with the VA Regional Office. Boots on the ground is not a criteria to be awarded for exposure. It just depends on who is handling your claim, and what evidence you have relating to exposure (i.e. afsc). I did talk to a DAV rep at my local VA, and he shund me off when he heard that I was in Thailand. He claims no one in Thailand has been awarded. I told him that I knew of some guys that were awarded who never stepped foot in VN. His reply was that they are liars. This kind of help is what we don't need.
