Anyway, I'm a fan of a wrestler who looses in the first round and then claws all their way back to finish third. Always awesome to see. So with the Kelso Girl's tournament having such huge brackets, I wanted to see if anyone came close to doing this. I did a quick search at the posted stats and saw one girl in particular who had the most pins in the tournament. She had 10!!! So I looked at her bracket (130). She was the #1 seed and lost in her first match (round 2) after getting a bye.
She then crushed her way through the back door reeling off 10 straight wins by pin to finish 3rd (note that she even beat the person who beat her on day 1). Awesome and impressive.
Now my question is how was she allowed to wrestle her last match of day 2 for 3/4th place? That would have been her 11th match in two days. This exceeds the number of allowable matches one can wrestle in two consecutive days. Assuming I'm understanding the new rule changes. In a single day event a person can wrestle 6 matches but it also states that you can't wrestle more than 10 matches in consecutive days.
This is a national rule correct?
Rule 1-4-7, which states that no contestant shall wrestle in more than 10 matches in two consecutive days. She wrestled 11.
This rule was not followed. Just wondering if tournament directors are aware of this rule. I'm sure coaches are...or at least they should be.
