    Thanks for the reply. I wondered if it needed bleeding! I'll have a play later. I know the belt and the timings OK as I've just put it all back together. I was doing a bit of research on the net last night and found an American web sight which explained why these pumps are so difficult to service. Apparently, Kugelfischer sold out to Bosch, who in turn sold out to another company in Germany. This company has become very posessive about supply parts, rendering it almost impossible for independent injection specialists to service these units. This guy mentioned that he had a pump serviced by this German company at a cost of $2000!!! great!
