Morning Dave, I only have one air bag code relating to "battery safety terminal" (havent got the exact code in front of me). I may get it booked into BMW and get them to code the new battery to the DME and maybe that will cure all faults, fingers crossed. You still have a problem with the positive terminal of the battery! Programming will not resolve this issue. This has a pyrotechnic charge in it to disconnect the starter/alternator cable in the event of a accident. It works in the same way as an airbag and as such should be treated in the same. If you have some airbag testing resistors, you could plug them in the place of the BST and see if the code resets (Nominal value of resistance: 1.6 Ohm - 5.6 Ohm). This connector will have the shorting tabs that short the terminals together when disconnected so check that there is not a problem with them. The plug and terminals are all available from BMW. I will cut and paste some BMW info below :- Safety battery terminal The battery safety terminal is installed in the positive lead from the alternator just in front of the positive terminal of the battery. The cable ends in a tapered plug. If the monitoring of the battery cable determines a short circuit, the safety battery terminal is triggered. This switches off the alternator and the fuel pump. It also deactivates the starter motor load circuit. The engine can no longer be started. The interrupted alternator line can be replugged provisionally to restart the engine. In this case, however, the battery terminal isolation function is no longer available as the priming cap has already been ignited. The priming cap and alternator line must then be replaced.
