Range Rover 4.6 Vogue 2001 (P38) - Heater Matrix 'O' Rings Archived Message

    Hello UKAT.

My wife has the above vehicle and when I used it at the weekend, i could smell warm antifreeze within the car when it warmed up. I felt the offside front footwell carpet and it was damp. NSF was dry. After reading about it on www.rangerovers.net it looks like I need to replace the rubber 'O' rings on the inlet and outlet pipes of the heater matrix.

I just wondered what sort of job it is, although the official time to replace these is 12 hours (dash out job) the website below describes a short cut.

Have any of you got any tips for me before I drum up the enthusiasm to do it? I'm sure either Steve Norman or Andrew West will have some horror stories for me!!

    Thanks in advance

    Andy Amor
