Just spoke to the customer. They fitted the rack for exactly the same reason it is at my garage at the moment.
However, the dash board lit up like a christmas tree again. When I touched the loom at the steering rack the flickering ABS lights went out and the engine/EPC lights went solid and the steering light went from red to yellow. So I suppose the loom going to and over the rack will have some corrosion. Now waiting for a ramp to become free so I can unpack the loom unless anyone else has a better idea :-)
