I have wondered about that too.

There is the insurance issue, which I am sure some insurance companies could use as an excuse for not paying out on a claim, but there is also the issue of modifying an emission related component which I would think is probably a breach of some law related to type approval.

It would be good to hear from an expert on what the likely implications are?
