I am puzzled by this sort of thing which appears to be a common occurrence. A customer takes his vehicle to a main dealer which after all is the company that built the car in the first place, pays a load of money without getting the car fixed..... and then goes elsewhere! Why doesn't the customer make suitable remonstrations there and then with the dealership? This fella has parted with over a £1000 which sounds as though was wasted money and then walked away? Perhaps I am not living in the real world, but I know I would not let that happen to me. This customer should take the dealership to the Small Claims Court and claim all his money back....and more!
