Those Penguin teams if kept together would have been unbeatable. Some of those teams had second line talent that was better than the last few cup winners first lines. Sure we have some great new players and teams, but we have had great players in this game for a long time. This game has not changed much over the years, same style, same intensity. Just more drinking.
To discount the talent level in a few short years is disrespectful to all the players that played. But coming from a jellyfish like you it does not surprise me. We have not had a huge infusion of talent over the years. That time we had less teams and actually better/deeper teams. Sure we have had a few good players join, but some others have left. We had 4 teams back then with the same core group of guys we have now. The stars back then are pretty much the stars today. Then when we expanded to 6 team, we still won. The great players of today were the opposition then.
Get your head out of your ass Gill. Look at the names on those teams, once we had a second line of Lucky, Sukh, Goldie and Ricky.
Are you bitter since you were never picked up by one of those teams? Why are you unable to give credit to where it was due. Is it because you never amounted to the so called potential you had?
If you still have doubts read this article

BTW, its not about the Penguins anymore.
We have alot of great teams to talk about now. Like the Canucks, Islanders, North Stars, Hurricanes, Rexdale and Oilers. (maybe the Red Army or Kings in a few seasons).
