Years ago, we were running in upstate New York (Chautauqua maybe) and my old dog Countercharge was following a horse and got kicked. It stunned him and he slowed down for a while, but went on, had a couple of finds and finished third iirc. No permanent damage, he was fine the next day and iirc, won the Amateur. But I can remember, my heart stopped when I saw that horse lash out and Charge jerked his head and staggered but he just slowed down some and went on. I told Gene, I hope that damn fool dog learned not to follow a horse! Gene just laughed and said, "Probably not!" Harry
