I wonder if he'll start suing now that he's a private person (though position hasn't stopped the Waleses or Harry from suing).

So many headlines in the DM say one thing presented as fact, but in the body of the accompanying articles they say "sources say" or "could" instead of concrete statements.

I had originally skipped this article, but now I see that it's based on allegations by a writer who is promoting his unauthorized book. He sounds like another "royal historian" whose works are banned in the UK.

Andrew is already damaged goods, and the palace pr machine is not going to come to his rescue. I don't know if this story is true or not, but enough other stories are and this one lines up with those. You're right that this biography is unauthorized, but I don't know that Andrew would authorize any biography as that would give the writer cause to delve deep into parts of Andrew's life that weren't on the court circular. The larger point is that BP won't be swooping in to issue denials and demands for retractions. He's on his own, unless he budgeted for his own pr guru to work miracles on his behalf.

Also, as sensational and salacious as the Daily Fail may be they are often correct in what they report.

Somewhere in all the articles that have come out I read that Charles, as Prince of Wales, advised against appointing his brother the trade representative, saying Andrew would just chase women and play golf. According to what I read, Charles was overruled by Tony Blair. This speaks highly of the King's judgment.

Agree. Too bad they didn’t listen to Charles. There had to have been a more suitable position for Andrew.

To think that they replaced the duke of Kent with Andrew! They could have gotten many more, productive years out of the old duke.

Putting Andrew in that position with no training or oversight was a huge error. He's always needed adult supervision.

This is the same guy who claims Andrew has slept with upwards of three to four thousand women, and who also claims Andrew lost his virginity at age eleven. If Andrew was busy boinking all those women, when would he have had time to participate in the Falkland Islands war, serve on a (mostly) male-crewed ship, get married, have two kids, and travel around the world on official engagements? This author is not credible.

Yeah, he's not the most credible. In the story concerning Andrew in Thailand, he cites a Reuters correspondent and...a member of the Thai Royal Family. I'm sure a member of the Thai Royal Family would freely speak out on Andrew, I don't think so. Royals don't speak to reporters and they only speak to authors they truly trust...except in the case of Willem-Alexander when he took the cheap shot at Catherine over photos.
I was surprised when Andrew was given the Trade Representative position, pushing the Duke of Kent out. Andrew took full advantage of it and for the wrong reasons. He helped himself to the money offered and the perks. There will be many more stories coming out about Andrew in the coming days, I'm sure.

Prince William, in particular, a royal insider told me this week, has been 'smouldering on the sidelines' ever since the release earlier this month of a pompous, self-aggrandising statement by Andrew in which he used the royal 'we' to conclude he would 'put my duty to my family and country first' and 'no longer use the honours which have been conferred on me'.

The then Prince of Wales believed his brother's proclamations of innocence and thought, along with the Queen and Princess Beatrice, that the interview would 'clear the air'. 'That ended in disaster and woe betide anyone who mentions his involvement now,' says the royal insider.

The Kent family are said to have considered not inviting Andrew to the service. In the end, according to a source, they asked him to use a side door at Westminster Cathedral, 'to avoid a fuss' and, for the sake of discretion, he and Sarah Ferguson were allocated seats in the south aisle, close to that door.

According to the source: 'There was genuine shock from everyone when Andrew and Sarah arrived by the front door, strutted down the aisle and afterwards joined the family on the steps for the Duchess's departure. They treated it like a jolly family outing.'

Fergie, it is said, is 'rocked' by the speed with which their fates have been sealed. 'To see it all taken away so swiftly and brutally has really set her on the edge,' says the insider.

If in the past he was a stickler for bows and curtseys from staff, then should Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie visit him, by rights he should be bowing to them.

He is unlikely to have room in his new abode for anything more than a cook or housekeeper. He will also lose the luxury of meals delivered from the kitchens at Windsor Castle.

Martha, thank you for sharing! My guess is I believe both Fergie and Andrew thought they were in the clear.

I do wonder how much do their daughters know and when did they find out.

Right now I think that the daughters thought the best of their parents. They're a loving and close-knit family who have gotten used to the slings and arrows of public life. But now that the seamier side of of York life has been made public, with more revelations on the way, they have to know that the allegations they shrugged off for years are true. Both princesses and their husbands have business interests that could be impacted by the scandal/s, so they can no longer be dutiful daughters who turn a blind eye.

The tabloids have been on this, "William and "Kate" were the major force behind Andrew's "downfall". William is next in line to the Throne, but he doesn't make the King's decisions. The King discussed the situation with his son, but, with Anne and Edward plus Andrew and his family. Another case of the big, bad Prince and Princess of Wales.
As for Andrew's interview, I don't remember ever reading that the Queen and then POW (Charles) were all in for the interview. I just remember Fergie really pushed it and Beatrice was for it, but Eugenie was hesitant. Then when the interview went south, Fergie didn't even hedge on throwing Beatrice under the bus, saying it was all her daughter's idea and pushing.

As I stated, I'm sure we're going to find out many more stories concerning Andrew and Fergie.
I remember the business news outlets running the story when the "company" collapsed, Jay Bloom is one of these guys that if he offers any deal to you, turn and walk away...fast. Mike Evers is just as bad. Fergie and Andrew are just greedy and stupid.
