The King discussed the situation with his son, but, with Anne and Edward plus Andrew and his family. Another case of the big, bad Prince and Princess of Wales.
As for Andrew's interview, I don't remember ever reading that the Queen and then POW (Charles) were all in for the interview. I just remember Fergie really pushed it and Beatrice was for it, but Eugenie was hesitant. Then when the interview went south, Fergie didn't even hedge on throwing Beatrice under the bus, saying it was all her daughter's idea and pushing.
