I can see him sitting on it. When it happened, if it happened, there was so much else going on and Charles Spencer had cast himself as the caring brother and uncle. Attacking the father of his nephews wouldn't jive with that image. Both men probably said nasty things and Bolland wouldn't have hesitated to share the Earl's nasty words with the media. And I think the story would have gotten lost among the hundreds of articles that were being pumped out. IMO, it does sound like something Charles would say in the heat of anger. He thought the media's obsession with Diana would dissipate after the wedding. I can believe him thinking that after she was dead and not around to call up Richard Kay and teh others, that the media would find somebody else to obsess about. It's been a number of years since the media have bombarded us with Diana articles on the anniversary of her death. Aside from the twosome invoking her name, the only articles mentioning Diana are those claiming that Catherine (or the other one) are wearing her jewelry as a tribute or claiming that their outfit is just like something Dianan wore.
