I know you weren't defending the LH comment at all. I get your point about people not talking/working problems out like adults anymore. It's true.
As I wrote if the officer was politely told to move his kit and he made that statement, then there would be hell to pay if I was the one he directed it at. If it was a rude request, the officer still should not have made that comment, it would have been better to pick up his stuff and left, but that would have been the adult thing to do and saved his job....maybe.
