Can you add some brown sugar to the leftovers, do you think? It makes sense as a missing ingredient. When you taste it, if you add brown sugar, you might want to test for salt.
Sometimes, when I add either a sugar element, or salt, it unbalances the flavor, and I have to add a touch of salt or sugar to balance whatever I've done that needed a bit of fixing.
It sounds great, though, as I love ribs.
