Re: We have our point guard and he's good!
lol, let's also not overestimate him. the HS school stuff is great for pump up discussion, it's still just 2 years dated, I really don't care about the 4/5 star stuff after 2 years, that potential didn't materialize the last two years, now show me a 4/5 star we sign out of high school and then yeah!
one thing about Tone, he could get around D1 guards with his quickness. now, what he did after he got around a D1 guard is another story! I really doubt this guy has anything close to Tone's speed, and Tone didn't have 6'4"either.
Yes Issa is a good addition!! and all that. Heck, we are pretty much desperate at this point for some sort of viable pt guard. It's still just a lot of 'show me' that has to occur.
Letís not underestimate him. He was not a starter but did make their regular rotation. He was evidently outplayed by an older player. But he did play on a regular basis. He was a 4-5 star recruit who had a lot of offers.
He might be a back up at Stanford but he could easily be a star here.
Silva was a very high end recruit out of HS. He was ranked in the top 100 players overall, getting to as high as 53. So, I think it is fair to say he is talented. But, at the D1 level, his best game was scoring 12 points and for a Stanford team that struggled at the PG position, he did not earn minutes or a starting position. Therefore, he would appear to have potential, but is unproven. We are of course also replacing two PGs (Murray and Hunter). I think we need another good PG and let them earn the starting spot.
define good please?
does simply playing for a BCS team makes one good?
he looks.......like he might be ok from his stats, but nothing really jumps out to be ...'wow'
Issa Silva, Stanford transfer.
