Just no hype. This is not two years ago. The 4 or 5 star stuff is frankly meaningless. Happens all the time when guys get to play against D1 speed and muscle.
It's now, & not trying to be a wet blanking, have to give the guy some credit for foregoing a Stanford degree to come play and yeah this is nice, shows he has something to prove. Just nothing to indicate so far he's another Dei-Dei or even Slater.....yet. Given the stats from a lower level Pac-12 team Previous Message
Silva was a very high end recruit out of HS. He was ranked in the top 100 players overall, getting to as high as 53. So, I think it is fair to say he is talented. But, at the D1 level, his best game was scoring 12 points and for a Stanford team that struggled at the PG position, he did not earn minutes or a starting position. Therefore, he would appear to have potential, but is unproven. We are of course also replacing two PGs (Murray and Hunter). I think we need another good PG and let them earn the starting spot. does simply playing for a BCS team makes one good?
he looks.......like he might be ok from his stats, but nothing really jumps out to be ...'wow'
