Orting was giving the state title thanks to their connections in the WIAA, they were able to advance more guys to state thanks to the WIAA letting the west side advance top 6 from districts while Toppenish (in the same classification) was only allowed to advance top 4 and their dual was lost by 1 point but yea by all means they “beat their ass”

No pal you are the one that is wrong, WIAA let SPSL district 3 which orting is a part of advance top 6 to districts where WIAA only let CWAC district 6 which Toppenish is a part of only advance top 4. Know your facts.

Where we're all these big brains when Toppenish who has numbers to be in 2,3A winning all these team titles in 1A the last couple of years.
It's all for shine my boy, they have bad habits and attitudes because it's allowed and when it's time to step into.the real world they fail.
I say this not to pick on anyone but just look at the home grown kids not transfers.
one maybe two years of college and they are back home because really is to much.
it's really sad and wolill continue, just look at this weekend bud.
Not sure if that happened or not but having the dome boo you says alot.
Iv listened to his dad enough and the guys ego is colossal ego and the kids behavior lately is making sense.

Purely a numbers game by WIAA.
District 3 2a has 16 teams (SPSL & Olympic), over the 2 year cycle they get 17 berths 9 the 1st year and 8 the 2nd year. Districts have control of how they distribute the berths given them.
District 5 (CWAC) has 9 teams and they get 9 berths over 2 years 4 the 1st year and 5 the 2nd year.

The SPSL was allowed 4 out of league and the Olympic league was allowed 4. Each league has 8 teams. The district combined was allowed 9 spots. So the 5th place wrestlers in each league wrestled off for the 5th spot.
Along the lines of the thread, the behavior was embarrassing.

This was classless behavior by an immature young man that should know better.
This is just bad for wrestling, not just a kid showing off.

The WIAA match-up was announced UFC style.

The "DOM" was ready for his opponent.

The "two state champions" took their positions as the crowd's attention was directed to the mat.

BUT, the victorious gladiator fell out of favor with the crowd as the DOM went down in defeat.

I think WIAA got what they asked for.

They put on a good show,

It was really sad to see that happen with Toppenish

Also sad to see officials afraid to make a call , in this case

Multiple calls.

He has issues that go deeper than wrestling. As mentioned before, he shows signs of a histrionic personality disorder tendency combined with a middle child dynamic. He talks about Jesus yet tries to imitate a ghetto lifestyle on the mat, disrespecting opponents at a school event just to satisfy his need for attention. Then he apologizes, only to repeat the same behavior again and again.

You would think he would have some respect for someone who has faced the same adversity in the sport as he has. But the fact that Justice was visibly annoyed when his opponent requested medical assistance during the match while the Toppenish crowd heckled the injured wrestler shows that his environment encourages this kind of behavior. Maybe he enjoys being part of that toxic culture and then playing the victim when it suits him.

Justice is incredibly privileged compared to most. His dad is a coach, a Washington state director, and has the key to the high school gym, giving him unlimited practice access. He has top-tier training partners at his disposal, whether through his dad’s connections or just his own brothers. If he needs to compete in a tournament, his dad has the financial resources, whether through donations or state funding, to make it happen. He has both parents at home who seem to love each other and a beautiful family.

There is absolutely no reason for him to act this way, especially when he has advantages that most kids do not. It is unfortunate, but to each their own. Ultimately, this was the referee’s fault for allowing it to happen. If this kind of behavior is permitted, it is sad that wrestlers and their families have to deal with it at an event of this magnitude.

Mr. Matt at Washington Wrestling Network, if the things Justice did in the final match and throughout the season happened to a kid you coach, a family member, a friend, a brother, or a sister, whether in a final or a round robin, you would not be saying, “That is what the sport needs.” You would not be excusing it just because he tricked you into thinking he was a “humble” kid. Do not call people crazy for recognizing Justice for what he is, a confused kid, a product of his environment, with no one he respects enough to correct him.

Respect is not outdated, it should be protected for the good of the community and passed down to future generations. High school wrestling is not the new UFC, nor is it about how many titles a family has to justify bad behavior. If this kind of conduct became the norm, many volunteers, families, wrestlers, coaches, and programs would walk away from the sport. Be mindful of what you say because you have the power to influence young minds. Disrespecting opponents is not elevating the sport. Celebrating is one thing, but what Justice did in that match was something else entirely. The entire Tacoma Dome recognized it, not just the Orting crowd, and the fact that one kid was booed out of a crowd that large is a record he holds; one he should not be proud of, though I am guessing he is.

Throughout the three-day event there was a steady stream of occurrences that fit the definition of disrespect and unprofessional behavior by coaches and wrestlers.

I saw several displays of this type behavior that were more egregious then Zuniga. But the Mob was distracted and the actors weren't from Toppenish.

Well I'll be danged, that kid, now that’s some confidence! I sat there, just wishing my Loggers had that kind of swagger. Good for him.

Mark, That boy looked at me, all confused, and I had to give it to him straight. I said, "Mark, you're not good. You wear Brute headgear, your singlet’s on backwards half the time, and that’s why he just pinned you. He gave you that bothered little half smirk, though so that was nice, he didn't even owe you that".

Them boys up here and me had a real heart-to-heart about how when you’re great, people watch. When you’re not, only your mom does. I reminded Mark of this, "Remember when you fell in the pond at the Mill Haus and cried, and nobody asked if you were okay? That’s why that kid just pinned you. He don't respect you" Then I told him to clip his toe nails.

We forget but, life below the mountain hits different, but them boys up high been taking notes. Next year at Glenoma? Y’all better get your tickets now, them loggers will be putting on a show for y'all.
