You can always feel free to email me and throw your hat in the ring for a division next year. I don't replace people that are doing the job well but sometimes they are weaker because that person volunteered to help, as a favor to us, and may not really have the time to do as thorough a job as someone else may. They may be relieved to hear we have a will replacement. Every person has different jobs with different time constraints. Whenever I have volunteered for something, because they needed help, and I was stressed for time, I was never upset when they came up with someone to take my place. That happened in 1A last year and Mike came in to help. He took over this year and is able to put out a good product in his first year, which is really good. Humint One took a lot of hits on here about his rankings the first year but got really dialed in by year 2-3 and has been solid every year since in 2 divisions, except for this year. Right now is a difficult and he has been unable to put out rankings the past few weeks. He has become my friend and I will not push on him during this time, as I know what is going on, and I know the problems will come to an end, we just don't know when.

Somebody earlier said they hoped this year was a fluke because the site has a 20 year history of quality rankings for this state and almost 30 years of results and history. I think we are finally pretty solid this week, except for the 3A and 4A as mentioned above. After districts I may jump in myself and see if I can help our 2A ranker with analyzing results.

I will talk with all the rankers after the season to determine future staffing. Just like I said earlier, a ranker may not have time, or they lose the interest, etc, and so it is true for a web host. I have been doing this for almost 30 years. I used to also do the PCJWL and the WSWA sites, as well as this one. It was fun at first but became a grind with the others after a while. I was not upset at all when PCJWL decided to go in house with their own web host (thanks Steve!) and it took some pressure off of me. A couple of years later all the USAW state websites where supposed to switch over to a new platform and I didn't have the time or energy to learn a new one after I had just spent 2 years totally revamping the WWR to a new hosting platform. They came up with a volunteer to take over their site and I was relieved. The point is, feel free to volunteer each year for a division as year to year we never know whose lives or interests will change. I may have no need one year and need to fill three spots the next.

If I can make sure to have a really strong crew for next year I will see about cranking out a "30th Anniversary Celebration Tour" for the website, and I may bring back the All-Class rankings, done by myself. I don't think I have done those myself in 10+ years but maybe one big, final year. Maybe more...Time will tell. Every dog has its day.
