Rivas and Cruz are examples which shine some light on the veracity of the rankings, especially in 2A this year. While I appreciate the ranker taking his time to put this imformation out, I think outher information such has quality of the tournaments, quality of oppenents and record with similar opponents. I understand Cruz and Rivas are freshman, but you shouldn't necessary need head to head match ups and a high school state showing to rank these wrestelers, as well as many others. For example, Rivas has only lost one match which happens to be to Lazarus McEwen (#1 at 106). His wins inlcuded out of state tournaments and overall tougher tournaments such as Tri-state, the viking invite, etc.

Cruz took 8th place at DocB which is a top 5 high school tournament in the nation. His only instate losses are to One wrestler, Brycen Dawley (#1 4a 113). Aside from that, Cruz did tech Audon Clark in their dual, yet is still ranked lower than Clark.

From my perspective, I would seem that too much emphasis is placed on previous state participation or placing and a lack of evaluation of the quality wins. There can't always be head to head match ups. Ideally we would like head to head match ups, but the sesaon doesn't always work out this wey. These two have done well against the top wrestlers in many divisions inluding 3a and 4a studs.
