Definitely not a bad idea. I assume you are a parent who has a solid kid that doesn't do this, but has great kids do a massive drop.

I know my kid wrestled at 126 all year and dropped to 120 at the end, but he was a small 126, even smaller when they gave the 2 lbs after Jan.

Serious wrestlers will cut 10-15lbs or more at 165+.
