    Hi
Don't worry about replacing the seat sensor it's a nice job and you can charge good money 3 hrs at least but it will only take about 40 mins much nicer work than clutches and cam belts. Done a few of these now,i have tried replacing the module (£25) under the seat but this has never cured my problem its always been the seat sensor.
    First disconnect the sensor wires.
You will only have to remove the seat base(bit you park your arse on), the base is held down onto a plastic pan seat frame, the base is held down in each corner with what i can only describe as a plastic looking Christmas tree/bullet plastic thingy lug. Just grab hold of each corner of the seat base and pull the b###h upwards as hard as you can until you hear the plastic Christmas tree bullet thingy SNAP. You will probably snap all four. Now you have the seat base in your hands you can easily de trim the material, it hooks on all four sides with plastic hooks built into the seat, then there are a second set of copper hooks or rings that you will have to slightly bend and disatach from the inner part of the seat. These are attached to steel wires running through the foam of the seat. Now you will see the occupancy detector it will be stuck to the foam in about six places, try to remove it carefully as it can bring part of the foam with it. If it does bring too much foam off with each sticky pad then you may have to super glue the new sensor in position as the surface becomes uneven. Remember when you order your new sensor about £54 don't forget to order your 4 plastic bullet Christmas tree thingys, our local bm agent has hundreds in stock. Also to fit the new ones you may have to drill the old ones out of the seat frame. i know it sounds a lot of work but its a peach job, you will understand when you've done one.
    regards
    DJ
PS just out of interest see if you can watch the sensor on live data. On my machine Autocom, if i go into live data the seat will read un-occupied, then if i sit in the seat it reads occupied but if i get out of the seat it still reads occupied until i switch ign off and back on again. This is also the same with a new sensor and no faults working ok. could just be my machine who knows.
