Alfa Romeo 156 2.0 TS 2002 - Fault on lights Archived Message

    Hi All

This car came in with O/S side, tail & brake lights not working and bulb failure warning on.

I found the sidelight H6 bulb blown and someone had fitted a 382 to the rear, not a 380 twin filament. Renewed all bulbs and everything seemed OK.

Checked all the lights again on completing service ( you know...just to make doubly sure!)
and no tail light. I checked the bulb and noticed that the 5W filament was glowing, removed bulb and refitted it and it came on full again. Switched lights off and on again, no tail light just faint glow until disconnected and reconnected.

I deduced that the bulb-check system is faulty and is powering the bulb - this is even with the ignition switched off.

Is anyone familiar with this system? Where is the control unit hidden?

Also, the rear electric windows don't work, there is only a clunk from each door as you try them.

Oh! the wonders of Alfa wiring!

    Thanks for reading,

    Regards,

    Steve
