Range Rover DSE 1998 2.5 TD - How does the air suspension work? Archived Message

    Hi Chaps
Need some advise off a RR specialist here. I have a DSE 1998 but i am not sure if the Air suspension is working correctly. There are no reported faults on the dashboard and once the system is in standard ride height mode it works perfectly when driving however far i travel it puts its self into low ride height on the M way and then back to normal no problems at all. But what i have noticed is that if i leave the vehicle over night or even for a few hours i can start it up and the orange LED for normal height is flashing and the access/crawl height LED is lit, the car is not on its arse but i would say that the rear is perhaps 10 to 15 cm lower than the front. The car will also drive fine like this but it can take 15 minutes for the LED to settle on normal height regardless if the car is moving or at a stand still. This does not seem to occur all of the time but i would say it happens about 70 percent of the time. Also if i select Access/crawl ride height to get my big lazy lump of a dog out of the back and then re-select normal ride height it will take some 10 to 15 minutes to go back up to the normal ride height is this normal behavior? does accessing crawl expel all of the air from the system so it then has to re-charge??
But like i said i have no reported faults in the dashboard messaging center and the car seem to run quite faultless.
    Many thanks in advance
    David
