All makes and models - Checks during servicing # Archived Message

Hi fellas, we had a customer come back to us this week complaining that we never cleaned or checked his handbrake during service on his Volvo V70. His shoe lining in one of the disc drums had come off and he wasn`t too pleased as he had to get it recovered to and repaired at another garage. I explained to him that owing to the design of these handbrakes in brake discs that on a service we don`t strip down the calipers and discs on the rear. We blow out the dust and externally adjust the brake shoe adjuster. What I would like to know is does anyone strip these down to clean and adjust on a service?
