Mercedes Benz E220 CDI Elegance (211) - Battery drain help required - Fixed # Archived Message

Hi people. This is my first posting so please be gentle! The E220 has a drain in excess of 2.5A when all locked up. Removing fuse 6 (audio system) from the nearside boot fusebox takes this down to 1.4A. I can get rid of most of that by pulling fuse 40 in the offside dash fusebox but I've got to be honest I'm not sure what it's protecting. I'm not even sure if I'm giving the car enough time to go to sleep properly either. If anyone could let me know exactly how this car should shut itself down when locked & explain what dash fuse 40 protects I'd be most grateful. I've just been using Autodata for info so far. Much obliged....Mark
