Many thanks for all the replies, finally got this back today.
I am using a Solus Pro scanner but the escort has a flash code system for faults which registered 03 Autodata says drivers or passengers airbag or shared wiring.
Having followed Tony's advice and set about checking each thing manually I could find no problem.
Then a friend suggested checking seat belt pre tensioners, cleaned up plugs with contact cleaner and hey presto light now out.
Question is now these should have thrown up a code of 02 perhaps we should dis-regard codes and just check everything in the circuit.
