I have a customer that I have looked after both the family vehicles for many years, but this year as his job is a bit dodgy he was tempted into his local Vauxhall Dealer (2006 1.8 Vectra 43,000 miles) as they were offering a Full Service for £99:00 Within 20 minutes they were on the phone with a list of items totaling £800:00 that required doing. Timing Belt, Brake Fluid Change, Antifreeze Change, Front Pads 60% and Rear Pads 60%, they advised him that ALL the items required replacing for his own safety.......if you jump on the hook, then your going to get reeled in So now he has lost his bargaining power, I will give him a quote that is cheaper than the dealer, but not as cheap as if he had come to me in the first place
