    Hi Simon. Seeing as its a diesel, They suffer with the wiring harness from the pump shorting out above the Air intake pipe on the front panel, ( pull The intake pipe out and check the wires above it ).

    If the Customer has swapped the Pats module, it will need keys programming back in, which may be done using a 2 or 3 pin connector rather than the 16 pin one. ( ford had a habit of moving things around )

    Also, check the 3 wires to the stop
    solenoid / rim , which are -- ignition feed, earth and signal wire.

    If its got a lucas pump fitted, to get to the stop solenoid, you will have to cut the top of the steel covers off or remove the covers which is difficult on the vehicle.
