I think you may be up against it a bit with this one Paul. Without codes or data from the EWS it will be difficult.
A spare key if available would be a good place to start. Check power supply and ground to EWS (located over drivers right foot). Check wiring and signal from ign to EWS. After that maybe you should consider passing it on to someone who is equipped to deal with it.
