I had exactly the same problem as well on a Passat diesel & it also had a bulk head full of water & the servo. After flushing and replacing oil & clearing drain tubes it seamed to be ok, but I coldn't see how water could have got into engine.This vehicle had also just been serviced abot a month before & had suffered from a lack of power also.
