Alan,
Two thoughts;
Could the customer be running it on bio-diesel, I doubt it but worth checking I would think.
Have heard about leaking servos/plenums flooding a couple of times now, can't remember if it was on this forum or another one. Conversation was along the lines that in extreme cases the servo can fill with water and on startup hydraulic the engine!
