Thanks for your advice on this subject and to mark for offering to help. Apologies for not replying, I wasnt
Waiting on word back from someone else at the time.

The problem was resolved by paying £85 and sending the unit to a company called rolling motion auto. He disabled the immobiliser and when I got it back, plugged it in, cleared codes and everything has been fine so far. I have contact details of anyone needs them.
