One of those difficult ones!!! 9 hours...that is a long one, but it does happen!
In this case I spent approx 3 hours reconnecting the poorly repaired wiring so the bill was around 120. Getting to the bottom of it took a further two hours of just reading diagrams and comparing the theory and the reality. Once I understood what was in front of me I then scoped and tested for an hour. A further 1.5 hours of repairing and putting back together. So the bill-would- have been closed on £300. There customer became so despondent with the car, he asked me to make him an offer. I said £600 (just off the cuff) and he accepted! He would have been happy with the £300 but considering history of vehicle he no longer wanted it.
In this case £300 is cheap. Previous owner paid at least £400 and fault still not repaired.
