that any airbag will be depliyed in an accident and I have seen plenty of damaged cars where this has been the case.
if for example you fitted an airbag squib from a 2010 transit into a 2006 transit, what is wrong with that as I believe there is potentially more chance of the 2006 srs system airbags being faulty rather than a 2010 model.
Do parts stock airbags or are they specially made to order which I doubt. How long would an airbag sit on a shelf in a warehouse before its ordered in from a main dealer parts department.
I think there are lots of unknowns with srs parts and what we should and shouldn't do.
Is it any different to fitting part worn tyres or having the srs controln unit crash data reset.
