Then scope the ignition primarys and confirm if the coil is being switched.
then scope the injectors to see if they're getting switched.
you could even put the gas sample pipe and check if you have hc's while cranking.
I don't see the point at this stage dismantling to check compressions, you need to verify the fuel and ignition systems first.
These are just a few simple tests I would do first, assuming you have the equipment. This will surely point you in the right direction.
