Hello. My father helped to set up the 50 Battery in Wiltshire in 1947 (I believe). Leslie Prouten. In the Second World War, be received medals - War Medal, Italian Star, Defence Medal End of War Medal, Palestine Medal (1945-1947) and the Hong Kong Medal (1948-52).
This proud soldier went on to marry and have five children (of which I am the middle one), and from that generation a further nine grandchildren. He passed away with no suffering on 6th October 2011, after a fight with various illnesses and ailments. Always a soldier.

I came across his regiment details in his handwritten memoires, which I am typing up for the family, and searched online for any details. He will be cremated in a service on 20th October.
